Meet Our Teachers
At the heart of John Winthrop School’s curriculum are our experienced and dedicated teachers. It is their warmth, enthusiasm, and creative energy that allow for a meaningful and enriching experience for your child. Each member of our staff recognizes the significant role that they will play in your child’s life. Our teachers demonstrate a high level of professionalism and passion for their work.
Experienced, dedicated, and passionate
All of our teachers have been trained in Early Childhood Education and hold either an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters Degree. We are proud to note that we have an excellent retention rate. Most of our teachers have been at John Winthrop School for more than five years and several have celebrated their twentieth anniversaries.
Ongoing professional development creates opportunities for our staff to strengthen their skills and broaden their knowledge base. We’ve added an early childhood development consultant to our team whose services are available to our teachers, our administrative staff, and our enrolled families.
Getting to know your child
Prior to the start of the school year, home visits are arranged for every family. This unique opportunity will allow your child to meet one of his teachers in a comfortable and familiar setting. Any questions or concerns that you may have about the upcoming school year can be addressed during this visit, allowing you to feel more at ease as the first day of school approaches.
Ongoing, open communication
Twice a year, in the late fall and early spring, we offer each family a half hour conference with two of their child’s teachers. You will receive a written progress report which details your child’s strengths, next steps in her development, as well as valuable information about her school experience.
You will note the welcoming atmosphere our teachers create as soon as you enter the doors of John Winthrop School. You and your child will benefit from their skills and experience throughout your child’s preschool years.
